MarineSafe is involved with a number of projects that aim to address the problems of domestic source pollution and plastic. These include #OneLess, a campaign to reduce the number of single-use plastic water bottles used in London (ZSL.org/oneless); a public engagement campaign on beaches and resorts being organised in Hawaii; measures to achieve a ban on the use of oxybenzone on beaches in Maui; the IPSO scientific workshop on pollutants from PCPs; raising awareness and concern about the issue at the International Coral Reef Symposium and the World Conservation Congress.
